VisualDiag

Medical image datasets are acquired by different imaging modalities (e.g. US, CT, MRT, …). Each modality has its own format and therefore its own data interface. It is desirable to visualize all datasets with one program. So we developed a VTK-based software prototype for offline visualization. This visualization program (“VisualDiag”) can load different file formats (DICOM including various private tags, UAF (Esaote-file-format), Analyze, …). 3-D image volumes can be visualized as

  • multi planar reconstruction (MPR; 3-D)
  • surface reconstruction (3-D)
  • volume reconstruction (inclusive modification of transfer function; 3-D)
  • series of 2-D images (lightbox; 2-D)
